Evil Jester Press is now open for novel submissions. This window closes on August 1, 2013.
We are looking for dark and thoughtful novels between 40,000 and 100,000 words for our 2014 line. Selected tomes will fall somewhere in the horror, thriller, dark fantasy, or sci-fi genres. Mash ups are fine, but we’re tired of zombies.
Send the entire manuscript (no partials) to EJP’s Acquisitions Editor, Shannon Michaels, at submissions@eviljesterpress.com. Include the following in the subject line: Novel Submission/Title/Author’s last name/Word Count. Include a short bio in the body of the email, but do not send a synopsis. We want to discover the story as a reader would, and knowing where things are going will remove the element of surprise. Sell us with your prose, your craft, not your marketing copy. And know this: If the first few chapters don’t hook us, we’re not likely to read any further.
Submission guidelines:
- Complete manuscript sent as one RTF file.
- Double spaced, Times New Roman (size 12)
- Page headers (in the upper right hand of every page except the title page) should include: Author name/Title/Page #
Contracted authors will receive professional editing, world-class cover art, and marketing support from Evil Jester Press. They will also receive generous net royalties on print books and ebooks.
